Acupuncture originated in China over 2,000 years ago and is the oldest and most commonly performed procedure. Acupuncture, which means "needle piercing", is the procedure of inserting very fine needles into the skin to stimulate specific points in the body. According to Chinese medicine, the body transmits energy or qi (pronounced chee) through the pathways in the body. Acupuncture targets more than 2,000 acupuncture points along these pathways to ensure the proper flow of energy through the body. The pathways can be influenced by the needling the acupuncture points. The acupuncture needles unblock the obstructions and reestablish the regular flow through the pathways.

Acupuncture is a method encouraging the body to promote natural healing and improve physical and emotional well being.

Acupuncture can help treat a wide variety of illnesses by relieving pain and symptoms associated with these illnesses. Conditions that Acupuncture can help with are abdominal pain, indigestion, menopause, infertility, chronic pain, headaches, bronchitis, smoking addiction, high blood pressure, anxiety, diarrhea, hiccups, asthma, constipation, and sinusitis to name just a few.

Prior to choosing Acupuncture, consult your physician to make sure acupuncture is safe for you. Prescriptions, over the counter drugs, breast implants, pacemakers, and pregnancy may actually make Acupuncture dangerous.
