One out of three women will develop a cancer during their lifetime with the most common being: breast, lung, and colorectal. Breast cancer today reaches into all of our lives and touches each of us. Each year there are three million women in the U.S. living with breast cancer and one million of those women don't know they have cancer. By the age of 50, women have a one in twenty-three chance of being afflicted by breast cancer.

Information regarding cancer and the significance of musculoskeletal problems that cancer patients can have has opened the door to physical therapy for all cancer patients. After surgery, loss of shoulder range of motion is a common which is required for the positioning involved with the radiation treatments. Loss of bone density is a common side effect of the medications, leaving women in a fragile physical state. Lymphatic cording is a possible side effect from lymph node biopsy and can cause arm pain and decreased use of the arm. Our hands-on therapy can help control lymphatic cording, increase range of motion and significantly reduce pain.
