ONLINE PILATES SCHEDULE
Pilates (puh-LA-teez) is a method of exercise that rehabilitates and conditions the body for life. It uses a combination of deep breathing and slow, controlled, non-impact, non-weight-bearing motion to release tension, align the spine, and correct imbalances from injuries. Most important, it actually helps prevent future injuries caused by areas of over or under development in the body. Pilates helps people develop a strong 'center' from the deep abdominal muscles from which all other balanced motion occurs. When people are practicing the Pilates Method, all their muscles learn to function in relation to other muscles throughout the whole body, instead of only in relation to muscles in one isolated area. Their body and mind are in balance. They feel flexible and energized. They are living their natural rhythm.
Who can use the Pilates Method?
- People recovering from injuries - sprains, torn ligaments, etc.
- People with arthritis or fibomyalgia

Individualized Programs
At Freedom Physical Therapy, initially we use a series of fundamental exercises to observe and determine each client's individual muscular imbalance and asymmentry. Then we use the Pilates Method exercises, modifying and combining them on the unique Pilates Method training equipment to create a program based on the person's physical condition and needs. Pilates equipment stretches and contracts muscles in a natural way without jerkiness or injury. The client is always in control and the movements are always smooth, continuous and relaxed. People soon experience the unique feeling of 'becoming one' with the equipment.
Quick Progress
The basics of the Pilates Method can be mastered in about 10 one-hour sessions. Then, two 45 minute sessions a week will keep people flexible and strong.
